Apostille
What is an Apostille Certificate?
An Apostille (pronounced “ah-po-steel”) is a French word meaning certification. An Apostille is simply the name for a specialized certificate, issued by a Competent Authority. The Apostille is attached to your original document to verify that your document is legitimate and authentic so that it can be accepted in one of the other countries who are members of The Hague Apostille Convention.
Examples of documents requiring Apostille include:
- Governmental documents such as birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates, copies of passport, certificate of no impediment for marriage overseas, and more.
- Academic documents such as Degrees, Masters, Diplomas, TEFL diplomas, and more.
- Corporate documents such as incorporation certificates, company letters, and more.
How to obtain an Apostille Certificate
In order to obtain an Apostille Certificate for a document, the following must be provided:
- We verified all documents before submission to avoid wasted time and unnecessary expenses.
- Original of the document. Some countries do not require originals, so high-quality scanned copies would be sufficed if sent through email.
- The country where the document(s) will be used in.
- Contact details such as phone, email, mailing address.
Academic documents, awards, diplomas and professional qualifications require further document checks. Most of these documents are issued with the apostille in 2 to 3 working days, not including courier delivery time. Unexpected delays may occur that will be out of our control such as holidays, backlogs, courier delays, customs inspections, etc.
Our service will ensure your documents are checked and certified correctly by one of our solicitors. Our prices include DHL courier delivery to your mailing address.
